Basketball Scoring Secrets Program

We’ve just discovered a new dvd instructional shooting drills program that is top-notch called Basketball Scoring Secrets. There is a special offer for the package, which is taught by Taylor Allan who is a shooting coach whose programs like Polific Shooting have been used by ESPN and NCAA training programs. Here is the video.

There is a long drawn out video that explains the secrets, but you must watch all 15 minutes of it in order to buy it, and goes about to explain the 5-pronged scoring techniques. If your a serious player who wants to truly improve your shooting then listen to the whole video even though it may be a little boring or slow.

The video talks about 5-pronged scoring, which claims to make you unguardable. He claims to boost his scoring average from 11 points per game to 24 points per game in 4 months after going through training program with an Italian pro.

5-pronged scoring are the 5 critical techniques every scorer needs to know in order to become unguardable and deadly, which will turn you into a multi-dimensional player. So that when a defender blocks one option then you can burn them with a drive instead of a shot.

Here are the 5-pronged scoring techniques:

1. Defender Control – react and control your defender’s movement on the court. Done by using alternate basketball dribbling and footwork to move your defender around the court.
2. Powerful Perimeter Game – beat anybody off the dribble, and use different angles to create space and openings to drive in the lane or to pull up for a shot.
3. Midrange Game – be able to create space and knock down jumpers quickly if your defender is giving too much space.
4. Explosive Finishing – go up strong and be able to finish against usually big men who are stronger and more athletic, there a few tricks to get around the ferocious blockers. Also need to make contact and keep control of the ball and finish.
5. Scoring Without the Ball – there are 3 big scoring opportunities on the court that give you extra points. Moving around to lose your defender and score layups, and more…

They say you need to know how to mesh the 5 skills to become a multi-dimensional player, and ultimately a deadly scorer.

Be sure to check out the video at least: Here is the video.

Yao Ming Retires

Yao Ming of the Houston Rockets retires on July 20, 2011. The Chinese superstar had 8 seasons with the Houston Rockets and finally after thinking about his decision over and over he said, “Today I am announcing a personal decision: ending my career as a basketball player and officially retire. But one door is closing and another one is opening.”

In 2001 Yao was the 1st overall draft pick selected by the Houston Rockets. He was immediately dominant with his routine blocks, his natural shot, and his little jump sky hook. He conceded that injuries had got the best of him. He missed 250 regular season games in his first six years with the league, until a third stress fracture on his right foot left him injured prone for the coming two years. In the 2008-09 season Yao played 77 regular season games but broke his left foot in the postseason against the Los Angeles Lakers. Yao only played the first 7 regular season 2010-11 games and broke is right ankle and missed the whole year.

“Selected to the NBA All-Star team eight times, Yao averaged 19 points and 9.2 rebounds. After his rookie season, Yao helped the Rockets reach the playoffs in the next two years. Yao ranks second in Rockets history in blocks (920), sixth in total points (9,247) and sixth in total rebounds (4,494).” (http://espn.go.com/nba/story/_/id/6785935/chinese-star-houston-rockets-yao-ming-retires-ending-basketball-career)

Yao is one of the most recognizable faces in Asia, usually smiling. He was always known for his pleasant demeanor, poise, and dignity on the court. His dominant play and humanitarian efforts have made him a fan favorite and a bridge between basketball fans in China and the United States.

Thank you Yao, here’s a tribute:

Increase Your Vertical Jump

We’ve come across a thrilling new solution for those that desire to increase their vertical leap.

Kurt Howard is a trainer who made a vertical leap training program that has been on sites such as ESPN.com, NBA.com, CBSSports.com, NYTimes.com and MensHealth.co.uk called Vertical Explosion.

He saw 3 main problems when athletes try vertical jump training, “and these mistakes were absolutely killing their results!”

1. Athletes only focus on the large muscles when you need to target all the muscles critical for jumping to get the full jumping potential to dunk.
2. Athletes sometimes train in the incorrect “mode” of endurance muscle training, when vertical leap depends only on explosive muscle training. The explosiveness of your muscles determines how high you jump.
3. Training programs usually tend to focus on one type training style which minimizes results, when one should utilize all three, plyometrics, weight lifting, and jumping exercises to maximize results.

Howard has a simple training program that offers training to all specific muscles and all three training styles. He has many success stories like a gain of 5 inches in first 4 weeks.

Below is further explanation of the three most common mistakes:

The first mistake is when athletes only focus on the large muscles involved in jumping. “It’s no secret that you need to be working on your quads and calves…but by only focusing on a couple muscles you will never reach your full jumping potential. It just won’t happen!”

Training only the big muscles will cause you to hit a plateau. “To break through this plateau and take your vertical above it you MUST target all the muscles that are critical for jumping. When you do, you are then able to squeak out those extra inches that can be a real difference maker.”

When you train you are either working your muscle endurance or you are working your muscle explosiveness. “Muscle endurance is awesome if you are a long distance runner but not helpful if you are looking to increase your vertical jump. To increase your vertical jump you need MUSCLE EXPLOSIVENESS.”

“Think about this…Do you want to be able to jump continuously for 20 minutes or do you want to be able to explode off the ground quickly and high? Then you need to focus on muscle explosiveness and kick that muscle endurance training to the curb!”

Plyometrics, Weight Lifting, and Jumping Exercises – each of these training styles is effective to a certain degree.

Most athletes use only ONE of these training styles. If you only use one then you are only going to get minimal gains! You need to incorporate all three styles to maximize your gains.

Be sure to check them out, the program is called Vertical Explosion.

Good Luck,
Nico

The First Step

As anyone knows the first and foremost training in any sport is to run, run, run. Because stamina is what wins games, scores points, and blocks shots. I find the easiest way to gain stamina is to do sprints and runs on the beach or any other scenic route. Running to and through the beach is one of my hobbies, I don’t even know that I’m running when I’m on a beach or through a forest.
